We heard a friend preach about how even though Jesus had taken on all power and authority, he chose to take off his outer garments and wrap himself in a towel and wash the feet of his disciples. He then sat down and said, ‘as I’ve done to you, you should do to each other; you should serve each other.’
When I went to say good-night to my daughter, she was reading those passages. She said after hearing that verse on Sunday she wanted to spend time going deeper. Our conversation made an impression on me. The next morning I looked at the same chapters. I got something out of it for myself. That is who I try to be. I try to love people, serve people, and humble myself.
